Flex And Coldfusion Applications

Resource Planning Application

This application was made for both the web and desktop. A manager plan their direct reports hours by specific projects. Employees are grouped by department and as planning occurs, running totals are kept to track planned hours against available hours by each employee.

Several reports were made to show planned hours by different metrics, i.e. By Employee or By Department, etc.


Mobile Time Entry
Coded with Flex, Actionscript, Coldfusion, MySQL, Oracle
Developed a mobile flex application running in the skyfire browser (mobile browser capable of running flash 9 applications). Managers have the ability to view their direct reports' timecards and approve their time for the given pay period. Users can enter in time for the current day by project and paycode.


Work Order Tracking System
Coded with Flex, Actionscript, Coldfusion, MySQL
This RIA allows users to create their own support tickets with ability to upload attachments for further description.

Technicians get tickets assigned to them and work on them accordingly. They can be updated and closed. Upon opening/editing/closing a ticket, the user gets an email notification with the appropriate information regarding the status and changes of their tickets.

Workflow has been integrated to get information to the appropriate people based several different criteria placed inside the tickets and also fires alerts to technicians when the due date has been passed.

The MySQL database tables storing the tickets were built to have search functionality using the ISAM table structure so users can search descriptions and resolutions of past tickets to see if current problems were previously solved. Basically, a knowledge repository of all open and closed tickets was created. Technicians are also allowed to build custom SQL Queries so they can display the type of tickets that they deal with personally instead of seeing the whole list.

A group of 15 reports were made to accompany this tool for management to use. Below are some of the reports include:

• Number of tickets currently assigned to each technician
• Same day resolution tickets
• Tickets grouped by priority

Portal Workbench

This workbench incorpoates several different modules to accomodate different parts of the finance group. AP, AR, Billing, Accounting and Expenses all have their own modules filled with mini apps pertaining to their everyday jobs.

The goal of this workbench was to make modules that aggregate data from several different sources (MySQL, Oracle, Ulipro, Peoplesoft, Kronos) and have it displayed in a way that minimizes users to have to use multiple tools to get their results.

For example, a user will run a query from Peoplesoft and Kronos giving them 2 different outputs. They then have to merge everything into Excel and weed out what they dont want. With the new module that was created, the 2 queries run in the background, gather the appropriate data from each and then combine the needed results into one datagrid, thus eliminating several other steps.

To get this to run a lot faster, nightly jobs were set up that run and grab all the data the users would need and aggregate it into new tables so at run time, the database doesn't need to do all the work. It basically has everything needed at your fingertips.

The workbench is driven by a custom role security module. The workbench admin has the ability to add users and assign the appropriate modules. Each user can potentially have their own custom menu.


Dance Studio Registration Database

Created a database app to add dance students and register them to classes. This was created in Flex, Coldfusion and MySQL as the backend. The application includes a few reports including a billing report, attendance entry and a faculty time entry component.

The applications consists of a 4 forms:

• Adding Students
• Adding Classes
• Register Student (Drag and drop student names into class buckets)
• Billing Entry Page

Telecom Database

Several modules were built for this tool.
1. Module for setting up vendors/accounts.
2. Module for setting up charge codes.
3. Module to enter in bills from the vendors.
Gives the ability to upload scanned invoices to keep them digitally rather than storing a paper file every month.

A group of reports were built to show data that has been entered:

• A report driven by date ranges to show amount billed/payed to each vendor.
• A contact list.
• Graphs of the amount of services/devices you have by month. Each bar can be drilled down.

Executive Dashboard
Coded with Flex, Actionscript, Coldfusion, MySQL, Oracle
This dashboard consists of several different modules each pertaining to different business groups. Upper management logs in and has a bucket for finance, operations and human resources. Each section has their own mini dashboard app that shows metrics, processes, etc. associated with them displayed through bar, chart, pie and line graphs and can be toggled between a data grid so you can see the raw data that makes up these charts.
